Elsan is a bit cheaper.  Buy a huge bottle and decant it into a few smaller ones and just take what you need with you

We use Elsan too.

We bought the Elsan Blue/Rinse Toilet Fluid (Twin Pack) which is double concentrate. Pack contains 1 x 2 litre double blue & 1 x 2 litre double rinse, £12.99 in Towsure.

We use our chemical toilet all the time we are away and still have loads left. Even after this week when our kids became fascinated with the electric flush in the FC!  Refilled the flush and emptied the cassette twice in 4 days!

Can't fault them either.

I never found it too expensive as you don't need a lot in the pot. I believe Porta Potti make an Eco Friendly version of their chemicals which is in a green container. Don't forget the men can often go "behind a tree" to save filling it up.

I use Fenwicks Top and Tail, and its EXCELLENT stuff

One thing I have noticed since using it, all the rubber seals seem to run smoother, it does say it also lubricates the rubber

It smells nicer than the blue stuff

It also doesnt contain formaldahyde

I have just bought from a friend a Thetford 465 E, electric flush model.  It didnt come with any instructions or chemicals. i have seen the different types of fluids etc which goes in the flush bit and which ones go in the casses with the waste.  all new to me havent a clue which types to get.  Any help appreciated

Theres so many to choose from, tank cleaners, tank frshner, green Aquakem, Aqua rinse,

And can you use normal toilet paper.or do i have to buy proper porta potty stuff

oh his is confusing

Shelley, re the loo paper, no just get cheap stuff. it dissolves just as well.

We've always used Aquakem or the Elsan Blue. One bottle lasts for loads of fills. Personally I don't like the stuff for the top as when I've used it we seem to get black algae or something growing in it. I just put water in the top now & empty what's left out for carriage.

Polishing the bowl with Mr Sheen helps it to keep cleaner.

Thanks guys for the tips, i was thinking if i had to buy the chemiacal for th top, and for the bottom it and the special loo paper it would make one xpensive trip for the loo. id have to start charging 10p a go.

I think ill leave just water in the top to flush , put chemical in tbottom and clean it out with milton excellent idea oh and cheapy paper.  thats all i use with the kids anyway as i think they eat it when they go to the loo
