Hi all!!

Well as we had bought the Conway Cardinal, we sold our dandy 17. Very very sad to see it go but hope the new owners are very happy with, we were. Now I need some advice as I need a few repair patches for the Cardinal. The repairs that have been done to the canvas are not bad but I feel they would be less unsightly with a patch over them. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can supply the patches? Also what type of glue would we use to adhere it to the surrounding canvas?

Any help or info appreciated but please bear in mind we are in Glasgow and dealers are quite scarce.

Thanks

Loopieloo

i think the best people to ask is TVS . they would even send you the patches you require and possibly the glue to do the job.

For fabric adhesive I would always recommend Copydex, but I would always sew round the edges to prevent the patch lifting with use

Are patches for folding campers meant to wean you off them?

Our folding camper was holed the night before we went to look at it to the horror of the previous owner. He'd been drying it off in the garage and on putting it down it billowed up (as they do!) and the canvas caught on a bolt on his garage door closer mechanism. The hole was smaller than a 50p. We got some canvas of a reasonably good colour match from Camping International (who had the sold the unit originally) and attached with copydex. It's a good repair  - can't be seen as it's on the roof and our 2 outings so far have had torrential rain and it held up nicely! We'll get a proper patch sewn in this winter probably as a permanent repair as the camper is pretty new and we want it to last 10-15 years! The copydex itself is rubber based and therefore waterproof although we did Fabsil as well as we had a can handy.

Thanks all for your posts, especially Blue!! hubby wishes such a patch was available but hes just thinking of his wallet when I start to suffer from the 'I Want' syndrome!! I have emailed TVS and hope to hear back from them next week. Jan I will do a search for posts by Romany, tyvm for the info!! As for glue hubby did say copydex was the best but I was so sure he was wrong...oops!! Scuse me while I eat a large slice of this humble pie (bloody hate when hes right cos wont hear the end of it now..LMAO).

TVS aren't very good at responding to emails, so give them a call if you don't get an answer in a day or two.
