Just a quick note to make people who may not realise aware that the use of kiddies bubbles around trailer tents/folding campers can seriously affect the waterproofing of the canvas. We have just returned from a week away with my husbands sister, her husband and young son. During our stay a group of children were quite innocently playing with bubbles near to our units. The following day it unfortunately rained and both our canvas's leaked quite badly, we could see that this was quite clearly as a result of the bubbles bursting on the canvas. We had to purchase a re proofing spray as a result of this, hopefully this will have done the trick. I must mention that the father of the children involved was genuinely unaware of the problem the bubble solution could cause and was very apologetic.
I too can relate to your plight, after enjoying a wonderful four days of sunhine and happy camping memories around a burning campfire, enjoying one or two bottles of wine we were soon brought back to reality when the heavens opened and our canvas started to leak not in one or two places but at least twenty, leaving our bedding and other possestions soaking wet. Again we were totally unawear of the danger of childrens bubbles and quite happily watched them the previous day been sweped away by the breeze and pop on our canvas. Again when this was mentioned to the parents of the bubble blowers they were very apologetic and even told us the bubbles had been purchased from a campsite shop. You wouldn`t think that somthing so simple could cause so much damage. But as the advert says " a little goes a long long way " Hope your reproofing does the job and remember " hands that do dishes are as soft as your face."
I knew this already but last wee k when we were away i wondered why the shop on site sold those bubbles and they didnt seem to care when i just brought it up in conversation....
I'm glad that you have posted this info as a mother of a 19yr old,17yr old and 8yr old aswell as being a registered childminder for 15 years I was totally obliviuos to this fact and will not be using bubbles in future
