We are thinking of buying a pop-up gazebo to use when we go camping with our trailer-tent. Has anybody had any problems on campsites regarding pitch size? And if you have used one, would you recommend them? Thanks.
If you mean the sort that has a concertina type "pole" around the top then I wouldn't recommend it. There wa one on the pitch next to us at August Bank Hol last year and even though the wind wasn't that strong it collapsed and the concertina thing broke. They are also quite heavy and don't pack very small.
Much better to get a Sunncamp Day Room or the other similar tents.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
The Argos pop up was like the one next to us that broke. The concertina things make them a bit top heavy compared to a cheap ordinary gazebo I think, and thus less stable.
Sunncamp Day Tent:
If you click on Company Directory, yellow button at the top of the page, you'll find links to lots of camping equipment suppliers, the Sunncamp is available on quite a few of them e.g. Outdoor Megastore, plus you will see other similar tents such as the Khyam utility tent, I think Easy Camp do one.
Or try putting Sunncamp Day Room in a search of the tents forum on this site and that should bring up a lot of threads where they've been discussed and links given to the cheapest web buys.

Thanks again Caz Just ordered one from outdoorfocus.co.uk £115.00 plus £5.00 delivery. Should get it Tuesday - Wednesday. The trailertent is already up in the garden, so will pop the dayroom up and see how it go's. Will let you know, seems a better option than gazebo. Chris
Wish I'd had one of the day tents when we had our dome tent. The gazebo (ordinary type with 3 sides) was great when the weather was good but a pain when it was raining or cold.
Must admit though we never had any problems when it was windy as we pegged it down well.
Sorry I'm too late on this one, but Bucks Camping have the Sunncamp at £99+ delivery. We bought one from there ourseves a couple of weeks back and used it over the bank hoilday week at Whitemead.
Used my Sunncamp day room at the weekend to give the dogs some shade from the scorching Lickhill sun. It stood up well to the thunderstorms yesterday, shoved it in the bag dripping wet last night, threw it over the garden fence for a couple of hours this afternoon & it was dry again.
Now back in camper ready for Elvaston................

we use a pop up gazebo with our dandy, takes 5mins to set up, its very nearly the same profile and it fits up against the door, we have bought the sides for it and put them in to suit the view,
i strap it down with a couple of ratchet straps, its all about the pegging out, and have never had a problem with it, it fits into a zip up bag and fits in the dandy like it was made for it, had it for 3 years, and its been to 5 differrent countries ...and best of all it was £29.99 from aldi....!!!
They make great sails. If you do use one, peg it out well & check your insurance in case it goes into orbit & lands a pole on someones Land Rover. That day room is a useable alternative to an awning mind you. I could use one of those.
hi if you are going to but a popup gazebo buy one from the likes of harringtons or a caravan delaer thats were we bought our from there a few yrs ago it very heavy but great bit of kit, make sure you buy 12inch ground pegs or the screw in dog spikes we have never had a problem at all, as said before you get what you pay for.
