Hi i have just returned after a couple of weeks away with my pennine sterling, whilst away i had to replace the gas bottle and then no matter what i tried i could not get the pilot light on the fridge to relight.Has any one got printed instructions on how to get the fridge going.I bought the camper second hand and there where no instructions with it for the fridge. It has always been hard to get it started maybe i am doing it incorrectly, it is a 1996 model ,thanks.
Once the gas has run out, the pipe to the fridge will be full of air - this will have to be 'bled' out before the fridge will re-light. As there is a flame-guard on the fridge (if it's like ours, anyway), just turning the fridge gas control 'on' won't allow the gas to flow if the burner isn't lit. Push the knob in and hold it for about 30 seconds, then start trying to light the thing again. Once it is lit, keep the knob pressed in for another 15 seconds or so (the flame-guard system works on a temperature sensor - if the sensor is not hot, it shuts off the gas flow as it assumes the flame has gone out - holding in the knob over-rides the system so that you can light the burner). If that doesn't work, I'm stumped, I'm afraid!
I have a set of instructions that came with my camper. If you would like a copy I will scan them and email them to you. Just let me know your email address.
Thank you all for the advise, Lobbers i will send you my e mail address if you would be so kind as to send me a copy of the instuctions.thanks again and happy camping. Laurie.
