hi guys

bad news one of our members of the raclet site has had his trailer tent stolen ( copy of email ) click on the above link

Hi alan
I thought I would contact you as my Flores 480 R was stolen today. I bought it second hand about two months ago. I hadn't got around to noting the serial number and other details, not even insured it yet! If you hear of one for sale, with a broken storage locker lid, the right hand one, (my fault), and burns to the inside of the cooker lid, (the wife's fault), please get in touch, it could be mine. As I have the keys someone might be looking for a lock for the door and one for the towbar storage bin, Raclet's own one.
It was stolen from my parent's house in Verdant Lane, Catford, SE London, between about 11.00pm Saturday 25/06/05 and 8.00am Sunday 26/06/2005. It was actually lifted over a wall!
Any help would, of course, be greatly appreciated.

LET US KNOW CHEERS :(

Sorry to hear about that.
Sounds as if this was well planned - especially if it was lifted over the wall.  They arn't the lightest of things so it obviously took a couple of people to be able to lift it.

Hi (reposting because I just started a new thread on it by accident )

I was hoping to have a bit of a result for you on this but sadly not quite bu there is still hope.  I am new to the trailer tent world and over the past couple of weeks have been avidly looking at trailer tents on Ebay.  This post would have meant nothing to me if the fact that the broken front box lid and the burn mark on the hob lid hadn't been mentioned.  One of the trailer tents I looked at on Ebay definitely had both of these problems.  It even had photos of both of the problems.  I did have it in my watchlist but sadly I deleted it when I decided not to buy it.  I can not say for certain that this was definitely the tent in question but I distinctly remember those two problems on a trailer tent I was looking at.

I've just spent ages going through all trailer tents sold since 26th and I'm blowed if I can find it now :(  It may be a good idea for you to do an advanced search on Ebay and search for "trailer tent" and make sure there is a tick in the include sold items box and then plough through each one.  I will have another look myself later too.  If you don't find it there it may well be worth notifying the police as they can make formal requests to Ebay for information on any user or auction.

Good luck.

Wayne

Hi All,

Thanks for all the interest in our stolen Raclet. Many thanks to Alan & Diane for posting here. I've checked out the leads given but no luck. I have remembered that the trailer has the four corner brackets for the luggage rack fitted instead of the original plates. So the four , slotted, posts should stand out. The stowage box on the towbar has a Weymouth sticker on the offside, in the shape of a shield. Any sightings please get tow car reg. and any other details, ie: time and place, please be careful! and we will pass to police.

Many thanks everyone, we hope to get into the outdoors very soon.33
