I notice the Trigano's are cheaper.  What are the relative merits... Can anybody comment on the relative differences?

many thanks

From what I hear - all of the folders are good - go for the best deal you can - go for a Riva if you want to use all year

We looked at them both side by side and the pennine/conway were better finished than the trigano. Whether it justifies the extra price I wouldn't like to say.

We upgraded from a Trigano TT to a Trigano FC when we came across a good secondhand one at a sensible price. (On impulse, really!)

Reasons for purchase:

1. Cost! The Trigano was less than a year old and cost us around £5K, having been £7K new. We could just about justify this expenditure but would not have been prepared to pay any more.

2. Recommendation. I'd read v. good reviews in the Camping and Caravanning Club mag.

3. High level of satisfaction with the quality of our Trigano TT.  Canvas, poles etc seemed to be of comparable quality.

At the time, as we were not really looking, we did not compare the Trigano with other makes of FC. Having seen the Pennines (and Conways) since, my impression is that they are simply higher spec. Plush carpets, more 'solid' interiors, caravan-like ovens and hobs, 'proper' upholstery fabric on the settees etc.  Just more caravan-like really. However, they are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the Trigano - probably several thousand pounds.

For us, the extra expense would not have been justified. We have been very happy with the Trigano and would make the same choice again.

If you want to know any specifics about the Trigano, just ask!

Marian.

Well the more I look into this world the more fascinated it becomes... What I really want I think is a selection of units......then I can try a different one out each weekend and become an anorak......

The trigano look fine to me and I noticed that it is much cheaper with the all inclusive deals. Can you get heaters installed in the TRigano's?

I don't see why not they can be retro fitted in pennines. The layout is identical. We just use a fan heater but scampi has blown air in hers

Yes - we have blown air in ours as we rally and didn't want to be dependent on mains hook-up (blown air uses gas for heating and electricity for the fan - mains when available, 12V when not).  I can't see why the unit couldn't be fitted in a Trigano - it's a self-contained unit that just needs a gas and electricity supply, external vent (vents under the trailer I think) and the inlet and outlet vent for the air-flow (round, movable grilles fitted into the front of the under-seat locker) - I think a caravan place may be the best place to enquire about fitting one to a second-hand unit.  If you buy the unit new, ask your supplying dealer about heating.

We purchased our Trigano in 2003 after comparing it to others. we felt that we did not need an oven or blown heating and noticed that the beds in the Trigano are both king size. We like the flush toilet and the way the toilet washroom can be made into an en-suite for one of the bedrooms. The canvas is good quality and the build likewise. The beds are extremely comfy and roomy even the extra bed which is made up from the dining area is big.

However as we don't get much opportunity to use it much and our son's hay fever goes crazy while camping we have decided to sell it.

We previously owned a Trigano 575 and now a Pennine Pullman.

The Pennine is better in design, materials, equipment and build quality and well worth twice the difference in price.
