A few weeks ago i posted a thread trgarding some metal "strings" that were hanging loose on the rear bed. We have since been informed that these strings, for some reason on the new Pathfinders were clovered in a plaastic coating. This has meant that they are separating (sliding) from the "crimps" behind the settees. Sellers are being provided with new none-plastic covered "strings" to replace the incorrect ones. A two minute job to replace, but as it takes 1 1/2 hours to get where we bought ours from and it does not make the unit dangerous hubby is going to borrow a crimper, peel back the plastic and do it himself which will be ok until we put it in for its service early next year.
I've covered cushions to go there so the back of the camper (like under the bed) is cushioned as well it does the trick and makes watching tv with your feet up ace!
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
Ours have come adrift too - makes opening the thing single-handed a bit tricky, as the poles lie flat on the bed, so have to be lifted before it will unfold properly! Other than that, I can see no problem with them being loose, so we decided not to bother doing anything with them till winter when Zippy will go to the dealer for a service.
Hi Scampi - Talking of servicing. We took ours last year and were most unimpressed! When it was returned to us there were faults, not previously present, with the electrics! The amount charged was somewhat exhorbitant too. Can you tell me where you will take Zippy and how much you expect to pay?
Don't know how much it will cost, but Zippy will be going back to Castlecroft, where we bought him - the best staff from Mitchell's went there when CCC took over, so if you remember the 'good old days' of Mitchells being a family company who cared about their customers and knew their products inside-out, the journey across the Pennines is well worth it!! We found the place by pure chance, when June and Bernard posted that they had the new Pennine range on display before the Earls Court show last year - we went over for a look, and the first person I saw was John Lee - having camped a few times at Mitchells years ago, he was a very familiar face to me, and a very welcome sight.
Aha !
Both of those wires have come loose in mine too.
I couldnt figure out what they actually did, so I just left them loose !
I have another fault .. the MCB for the fridge & charger is faulty. I thought there was an electricl fault first, but there is none. The MCB itself just doesnt latch properly. - some mechanical fault inside it.
Anyone know an easy way to get at it for replacment ? Either I need a very very long screwdriver to remove the complete electrical box and then figure out how the cover comes off, or am I missing something - The cover looks like its pop rivetted on ?
