Hi

We are looking to upgrade from a Sunncamp Grange frame tent to the Sunncamp 400SE Trailer Tent.

However, there seems to be better feedback for the Conway. Can anybody give us some advise to help  with which way to go.

Many thanks

Nick

We've just recently bought a 2 yr old Conway Classic Trio (trailer tent).  Now during our research before we bought it we were told that Sunncamp are a copy of the Conways, except that they are poorer quality.  For instance the poles aren't as thick, the zips don't slide as well etc.  We saw a couple of Sunncamps for sale on ebay that mentioned some of the poles were bent from wind damage and one had the comment 'poles bent from wind damage - oh well I should have gone for the better Conway in the first place'.

I guess you need to go and see some to make your choice but we are ecstacicly happy with our Conway.

recently returned from a camping trip and 2 couples whom were together pulled up with trailer tents.  I discussed with them because I have recently purchased one and one had conway and one sunncamp.  The couple with sunncamp had problems with poles and canvas.  Person with conway had no problems

I have just purchased a Raclett and hope thats ok!

Thanks for all the replies.

Have been to a dealer today and have had a look at the Raclett Floreal 480R. Looks like we are going to go for this one now. Really nice tt. Any feedback from would be great.

Hi, in response to the sunncamp 400se or conway? We brought a sunncamp 400see brand new tt this year and have been delighted. There are fors & against with all makes & models. Our friends have a Raclet and whilst their poles are slightly thicker and their canvas is slightly better quality, it also cost £1200 more than we paid for our TT and it is no bigger! We decided that if we look after the TT, we will get many years of camping trips out of it and the £1200 saving will certainly help to pay for those. To be honest, for 10/11 months of the year it will be stored on the drive or in the garage anyway. We have used ours 3 times so far this year and it is great. The sunncamp 400se also won TT of the year 2005 from the Caravan Club - Good luck anyway!

I agree with you Phil, but I would say that as I have a cabanon To add to what you said, the tent part of the the conway is made & supplied by cabanon, or so our dealer told us.
Brand new cabanon's are quite expensive - ours was £3400 or thereabouts - so it depends upon your budget really.

Good luck
