to buy a trailer tent?  He went visiting trade sellers yesterday and have decided on a Raclett, but we are not sure when to buy.

Will we get the best deals if we buy in Oct? or will it be best to wait until Feb/March next year?  We won't be using it till easter next year, but not sure what to do.  We are also keeping 1/2 an eye on used trailer tents, but don't want it to be more than a couple of years old, so it maybe best to buy new.

New to trailer tent buying so any information advice will be very useful

Thanks

I'm unsure about Trailer tents, but I do know that the best deals on caravans are to be had at the winter show.  I would suggest that this year's new folding campers are really no more of a bargain than next year's - they hold their money better than both caravan and tts.  The best bargains have to be second hand (a couple of years old) tts. There may be people who've gone out this summer in a new product and hated camping ( silly people). Check out the used products for sale on this site - ther are some good bargains and the sellers must be reliable because they use this site!!!

Good luck, I'm certain whenever you buy it you will love the holidays it gives you.

I always think the best buys to be had are just after the big shows when people just want to do better than the trade in value they are being offered and need to get rid because they can't store old and new units. The prices sem to shoot up at easter. Also 2005 is sold cheap to make way for 2006 new colour schemes etc which are not important to me.

Hi

We looked for a trailer tent over a 12 month period and decided the best deals were to be had at the Caravan & Boat Show at Birmingham NEC.  We picked up a real bargain on a new Cabanon Trailer Tent in the previous years colours and for a second hand price.  I would advise you purchase from a large show particularly if you are not worried about up to the minute colour schemes.  It's worth looking on e-bay as well particularly between October and December.

Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it :o)

When is the NEC show?  I have found two in London, which we intend to go to, but I would like to go to the NEC one too if poss.

We also aren't bothered about having old 2005 colours, so I think we may wait till Jan/Feb and hopefully everyone will be selling off old stock.

Thanks again

New or used equipment? Used stuff has several periods of low value, one of them being right now, with people selling to avoid winter storage, the other being as people stated above, when people buy new and throw the old stuff for part exchange.

Hi Allease,

We're selling our Raclet Marathon trailer tent 5 years old, good condition with a sun canopy which is great to use for the weekends instead of putting up the whole awning.

Have photos which we could send to you if you are interested. Colours are green canvas and yellow and orange curtains, (they're hanging on my line at the moment!)

Have to say the beds in the Raclet are very comfortable. We've been very pleased with our Raclet, you're making a good choice.

We got our Raclet at the Earls Court show a few years ago. £1500 saving and stuff like a fridge box and table thrown in as well. They are great tents! Good luck!

we bought last years model of the trigano cheverny tt at the beginning of this year and it turns out that this years model is exactly the same only different colour scheme and its over £1000 more expensive. it pays to shop around as well. we dont have many dealers up here in scotland so i looked on the web and we travelled down to england for ours.

Thanks for all your reply's.

We have decided to go with the Cabanon Atlantis, we are planning to go to the Earls Court show and have been in touch with a dealer that is exhibiting there.  We are hoping that we will get a good deal.  If not we will wait until Feb time :o)

Thanks Again

Allease
