Now is a good time as thumper says.
If you are buying a previously loved one the owners will be selling about now. Dealers will be keen to offload new ones to make space for next years models so you can drive their prices down.
Regarding children. We took our kids onto camp sites from 6 months old and we always had fun. Starting with tents, we moved onto motorcaravans and then caravans but unfortunately we had problems towing so gave up 5 years ago.
Two years ago we bought another tent, enjoyed it so bought a folding camper which we exchanged for a Pennine Pulman this year. Because of the time of year you can take a good look at the various fc's available and seek advice before buying. Look at actual units erected rather than pictures and brochures. The first one we chose was far inferior to our Pennine and almost the same price.
We love towing that and living in it.
This fabulous weather is giving us the urge to hitch up and go off for another trip.
