I've been invited by a market research company on behalf of the Caravan Club to a meeting at a local hotel tonight. I've been asked to attend because I requested Caravan Club info but didn't join, so they want to talk about what I expect from the Caravan Club should I join at some time in the future.I'm to be paid the princely sum of £30.00 for attending with free refreshments.
I used to be a member a few years back. Like clbewi I found a few wardens jobsworth,s. My main gripe was they seemed more orientainted towards mature campers with no kids. I found myself useing more & more non club sites & in the end thought whats the point of being a member. I know they can offer discounted insurance etc, but again shop around & you,ll probally find better. I don,t think I,ll ever join again. Just a personal opinion . Regards THUMPER.

Ask them why it says "trailer tents and folding campers are welcome" but no one seems to have told the people holding rallies. Thats why we wont renew our membership if I have my way.

Beware! They'll tempt you into a caravan with promises of scantily clad women and beer, then lock you in until you sign an irreversible direct debit for life membership.
Chumpy, take a look at another thread that's currently running on this site. It's on one of the other forums (the Camp Sites one) under the heading Caravan Club bookings. I haven't read through all of it but from what I have read a number of UKCS members have made their own comments on why they are not members of the Caravan Club or why they are ex-members of it. Might be worth you noting some of these comments down to pass on to the CC should you decide to go to the meeting tonight. Hope you do go - if the organisation has asked for feedback then that can only be a good thing - unless of course they ask for it and then ignore it!!!!! Ho, hum, cynical? Me? Never!!
Joining wasn't an option, there was no one there from the Caravan Club. The researcher was employed by a company called Harris International. He had a set agenda ( mainly advertising) and he knew very little about the club. The previous night they did the same thing but with current members.
