The washing-up liquid might get onto the canvas and ruin the waterproofing.  Just use warm water and a good sponge, we also use proper caravan cleaner, then wax the surfaces so that next season's mud comes off easily.

compared to car shampoo washing up liquid has to much salt in it to make it froth up and then could result in it rusting if not finsed of properly, car wash and wax does the job well but to get the black streaks off i suggest you use fenwicks black stuff remover

~Always use Fenwicks caravan cleaning products, they are the best.

I went down to wash ours yesterday, ready too put the winter storage cover on it.  I spent ages messing round.  Got the brand new storage cover out, opened it out of it's polythene bag.  Guess what it is the wrong cover.  We have a Pathfinder and the cover in the bag is made for a Pullman.  It is far too small so no use at all.  When we bought the new FC wee were given a free winter cover, but never used it yet.  Any way Pennine are going to order us a replacement.

We used a well known brand of awning cleaner (Thetford) to clean the bird poop (no manners them birds)  off the roof of our Pennine Aztec Awning (now no longer ours)..............cleaned a treat..................BUT  when it rained we discovered that the cleaner had taken the waterproofing out of the canvas..............was great fun (NOT) running around the awning with pots and pans to catch the drips LOL..........................Fabsil to the rescue on the following day

It may cost slightly more but try a dandy trailer tent instead, you dont need to dry them out, and you can clean them with just about anything as they are plastic, we prefer lemon cream cleaner does it best. and there is no need for an awning as the cooker is inside so thats a whole lot less to clean.

Sorry for that outburst only we sit in our little dandy most weekends and when it rains we feel sorry for all the people sat out there in canvas, which they will have to dry out later. And just wonder why there arent more dandys so that everyone can see how great they are. We  Dandys
