I am going to have to store my yankie Coleman hardtop outside this year I have bought a cover for that I have strapped down (not really bothered about the tyres as it will new ones next year anyway) but I am concerened about the interior, do I need to take all the materesses etc out or not?
Also with the camper being American I bought a fitted cover from America but it is of a breatable type and doesnt look all that water proof to me although it dries out very fast, do I need to cover the camper in say a tarporlin before I put on the fitted cover do you think it will be alright?
We have a pennine breathable winter cover over he plastic one. They are supposed to be waterproof but if snow lies on them it does melt through. We leave the mattresses in ours but remove curtains liners etc.

Hi I was told it would be better to allow the trailer to breathe, so this year I am going to put a brace 18 inches above the trailer cover from front to back and sheet it down to the underside of the trailer all round. Also I always leave all items in the trailer except of course food.
I was wondering the same, we have a conway cardinal (hard top). Kevin a friend of ours used to work at conway, now works at dandy, so I was going to ask him what is the best way. I was speaking with his daughter at footie training and she says Kevin also has the cardinal.
So when I find out I will post on here.

Ray, do you leave the battery in as well, and if so do you leave the EHU connected permanently, or just attach it every few weeks, or what?
I've taken the awning out but left everything else, and was waiting for a fine day to take out the battery so I can keep it topped up, but it keeps raining and I don't want to risk getting the canvas wet by opening it up!
Will be interested in what your friend says, Sue.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
You should never "direct cover" your trailer! Condensation builds up with direct contact. If you can build a small standoff for a "tent cover" that would be best. The all weather covers sold in the US still allow condensation with direct contact. If you can, you can also buy a Silica Dehumidifier to put in the camper and the "roof" above. This will hold the interior "dry" for up to 4 months, then change out the silica packs or dry them out in the oven and reuse.

Hi Caz Left the battery in last year, only charged it a couple of times and it has been no problem this year. I don't think a battery being on permanent charge and not used or discharged in any way during the winter period would do it any good at all, better to store it indoors where it is reasonably warm, ie under the stairs. One thing I have done is connect a marine type battery isolator in the battery box and I only connect the battery to the camper systems when travelling or on site, this saves the risk of fire due to a fault should one arise, perhaps I'm being over cautious.
