Hi, me again! Now I know someone out there must have had this problem...
The canvas on my TT has a biggish hole in it (couple of inches). It's inside, so it's not a problem really, but it does allow a draught in, and it gets caught on a corner putting the tent up and down, so it'll only get worse. The problem is that it's right next to where it's stapled to the bed platform. I'd like to make a decent repair - sew on a patch - and it seems I have 3 choices: 1. unstaple it from the platform for another three feet or so, so I can use my sewing machine on it, then re-staple it (disadvantage of this is that given its age I'm worried I'll damage the canvas trying to get the staples out) or 2. use one of those hand-held sewing machines, or 3. get a better idea from one of you!
I don't know if a hand-held sewing machine would be tough enough to handle a couple of layers of canvas - has anyone tried that?
Any better ideas please?
Thanks again
PS here's a pic, so you can see the problem...
