Hello sacman

It has stared to dawn on us that it looks unlikely we will ever finish buying all the kit

Hello, this is my 1st post and I'm no expert but I would reccommend buying locally I'm sure one will turn up.  We have a 1980 Fiesta and paid £950 May 2004 but did not use it until July 2005 due to aged parent needing care.  Can vouch for their quality even though we now need a side panel repair due to leaning on the sofa back rest.  We bought locally and it was the first one we saw.  I stocked up with tent repair and reproofing stuff but all is OK.  First test at Market Bosworth Water Park near home incase of problems then survived terrible wind, rain and power cut at Scotts at East Wittering Sept. 05.  It came with awning but haven't used it yet and quite a few extras.  The only things I have supplied are pillows, sleeping bags, dishes, cutlery, saucepans, electric kettle, tiny wash up bowl, chairs and a tool kit.  If you see a faded green Fiesta it may be me

Hi

We have bought a Fiesta which we are doing up for next season. What happened to your side panel? Is this a weak point I should watch out for? Was it from normal sitting & leaning back or leaning over to reach the beds that caused the damage? Sorry for all the questions  but as they say "Fore warned".  If you see a faded green Fiesta it might be me!!.

Hi Sarah

Much better now I've got a manual (thank you) but I've still got so many questions to ask. I'm just checking what works & what doesn't & so far all is OK. Most of the work seems to be cosmetic.

I haven't checkout the fridge as yet so fingers crossed on that. Lack of time is the enemy.

We can't seem to agree on the pattern or colour of the upholstery. I going to rip out the old carpet & fit either Cushion floor or Laminate flooring but I'm worried the laminate will be heavy. What have you got?

I think cushion floor would be best. If you can go under the bed boxes with it all the better. Then a loose laid bit of carpet you can bin if it gets dirty.

Hi Pie Face,

Sorry to worry you over the side panel but maybe you should check them out.  My husband tells me one of ours is rotten, some wet has got in from underneath.  It looks fine on the outside but when he stood up and leaned over the sofa back he pushed out one of the fixing slots for the back rest.  He may take the panel off remove the aluminium, use the old panel as a template and replace it with marine ply.

Hope your renovation goes well.

Beeb

Hi Beeb & Jan P

Thanks for the warning I shall be looking out for damp etc when I strip the interior for the makeover. Good luck with your repairs.

Jan P

I think you are right with the cushion floor (cheaper & lighter) but does create another problem ie what colour & pattern ? !!!

I've no problem with laying it under the bed lockers but does it go under the the kitchen units as well? What would the original flooring have been?

This makeover is now getting out of hand. You might see the first fiesta with the finest Italian leather upholstery, 12 volt Chandeliers, a mural on the ceiling & and a manservant down stairs (Underbed)

Laminate floor pattern of course! best of both! If its like the pathfinder the kitchen units are harder to get under but the bed boxes are just four screws.
