If it was me i would save up for the 3 way fridge as it gives you the extra option of gas which cant be handy if you do not have access to ehu.

As for size i think most of the fridges around tend to be on the large size unfortunatly.

I would so a search on here for either Combicool,Sibir and that should give you some answers

As above, but don't bother with the 12v option, just have 240v and gas.It is a misconception that you can run the fridge from your battery when on site.

The only time 12v is useful is to have the fridge on whilst being towed and powered from your car alternator.  Even then, when running on 12v, the fridge will not be very powerful.  However, in this configuration the power consumption puts an unnecessary strain on your cars electrical system, for little cooling in return.

My solution is to cool the fridge overnight on 240v via the ehu connected to my house and put in some of the blue frozen gell filled things.  This will keep your fridge cool for many hours. When on site, plug into ehu and use 240v.  Or if no ehu, then switch to gas.

Steve and Mandy, What johnjory said above is correct, but there are exceptions. If you have an onboard battery which hooks to your tv while underway, you can still run your refer, but as said, not as efficently as with your 240VAC. Gas can be used while no 240VAC is available, but you should also install an extra cooling fan so that the efficency is higher on hot days. As for a small unit, there are several on the market sold by most Caravan outfitters. You need to measure the room you have before looking though, because the dimensions will restrict your pick. Dometic (811 x 526 x 538) 240VAC Gas

Just for an example.. There are many others on the market. Good luck

Steve, Mandy

I have raesonable size 2way fridge that runs on 12v or 240 ehu. I got it from woolies on offer for about £25. Not only does it keep things cool but you can switch it to keep things warm as well.

When travelling I use those blue freezer packs to keep things cool. If i remember right I think it holds about 16 coke cans so, for me, it holds enough for a few days supplies, marg, milk bacon and sos etc.

hope this helps

regards

griv
