Hi All

Just like to say thank you for all your advice and comments when i asked about the folding campers.

We went to the nec on sunday with the intention of looking at all the models on the market so we would know what they were like when a second hand one came up for sale.

Here is our opinion of them,

First we saw the conway crusader and the pennine pathfinder as the missus wants a toilet, very impressed by the quality of these campers and the room that you have inside but thought £9500 new was quite a bit.

So next we looked at the trigano 575 tc we both thought it was also a very nice camper but maybe not quite as flush as the for mentioned one and also no oven, but we where given the chance to purchase one with full awning and skirts for the price of £6500 which we thought was great valoe for money even if it isn't quite as nice as other 2 but we could buy a big oven with the change lol.

We also looked at the dandy which for some reason we just didnt like, then there was also the tamirs (i think) very similar to the trigano but wife didnt like the red inside.

on the way down from scotland we stopped off at barrons to see second hand ones with the intention of maybe buying one on the way home. The best they had was a 2002 p/pf for £6300 so we opted for the new trigano as we felt it suited us better.

But again thx for all the help and i will keep you informed how it goes, these are just our opinions so hope they dont offend any1 with different vans.

Cheers Gerry

Great news - enjoy!  (By the way, we've never used the oven in the ppf, so no loss there!).

Congrats on your purchase.  We bought a Cruiser in 04 and absolutely love it..trouble is teenagers don't.  But still we manage to get away on occasion with it.

Glad to hear you bought one, may you have many happy holidays in it!!.

I don't think anyone here will take offence as we all have units that suit us and no-one seems to have the competative edge of 'mines better thans yours' everyone is happy with their own!!.

We love our fiesta but know that it doesn't suit everyone and life would be boring if we all had exactly the same!.

Personally, I wouldn't be without my oven, but as others have said, life would be boring if we were all the same!  When we wanted to trade in our 2005 (excellent condition too) Pathfinder, with full awning, 2 bed skirts, blown air heating, alloy wheels and Alko stabiliser for a caravan, we went to Barrons as we were looking at Baileys and our 'pet dealer' don't do Baileys - they offered us £4500 trade-in for it.  If they are selling a 2002 model for £6300, what sort of mark-up would they have put on ours if we'd fallen for their figure?!!!

I'm just sooo jealous  the Triango is something we would really like as soon as finances allow.   Much as a love my tents - I really like the idea of just being able to but up the trailer section without the need for awnings for weekends.  Also being able to cook inside the trailer section - the kitchen unit on the trailer tent is very heavy, and of course not designed to be used inside the trailer.

Happy Camping/

Sounds great - hope you have fab holidays in it!

I think it's great that everyone has different units - imagine how boring it would look on site if everyone was exactly the same! And what's even better is we all get to go camping - whether in a bivvy bag or a huge fifth wheeler thingy!

Scampi - Barrons offer sounds terrible - no suprise when we rang for a quote for the Pathfinder in January - it was list price only for everything - no deal doing! Obviously the lure of mototrhome sales is too much. Needless to say we went elsewhere.

We bought a trigano last year (575lx) and it has been great.  Only slight problem we have had is with screws holding wardrobe to its rail.  Fitted beefier ones and has cured problem.  They are great value for money.

Hi in our experience Barrons are terrible and expensive for new or second hand and also their servicing and accessories are always more expensive than down the road at Cattrick.  They offered my mate £50 for their Conway TT unseen or £100 if they bought a brand new one, They sold it for over £500 privately.

Anyway enjoy your new toy
