Halfords are a rip-off.

I cannot understand why anybody goes there and not to a small car parts place. There are loads near me you know the boy racer type shops and they only charge £5.99 for a number plate and you do need to take your licence and log book, takes about 10mins.

Hi I'm andkbobs OH we went to Halfords because there is nowhere else near us!!!, if halfords are THAT bad tthen surely they would have gone out of business years ago!!.

We were only trying to help and give some different prices.

i would love to know a place who do number plates for £6 as i have just bought a new folding camper.

Whats the name of the store perhaps theres one near me.

I wasn't trying to be clever, i was just saying that big companies are a rip-off and people only go there because of their reputation. i.e Halfords, PC world, Dixons etc when you can get a much better deal elsewhere. Maybe i am lucky as near me there are lots of High Street motor accessory shops and computer shops.

smaller shops=better service in my opinion and not over inflated prices.

Halfords etc will never go out of business because people will always use them thinking they are getting a good deal and of course in this day and age the need for parking at a big store.

Sam  i just used a local small motor accessory shop not motorworld. They are usually a few about on main shopping roads especially near me, maybe i'm lucky.

Motorbitz, Motor FX, Practical Motorists are to name but a few, you could also try another type of shop that gets overlooked one that does all the stickers and graphics for car windows etc there are a few near me main road and main town cwentre shopping centre and they are still cheaper than Halfords. They must be one near you in a big city like Swansea.
