Hi,

We have recently bought a Conway Crusadar 2006 model, we had a great weekend away in it this weekend, the only problem was we couldnt get the hot water to work, cold was fine but it didnt get hot any suggestions? my hubby thinks he connected all ok.  The other problem was the toilet wouldnt flush, are we not connecting something correctly?  As you can gather we are new to this everything else worked great and we had a fantastic time.  Going away again at Easter and would like all to work then.

Thanks

Assuming the electric hook up was working right my OH says did you have the fuse switch on aswell as the hot water heater, also was it flicked from gas heater to electric heater we have a pathfinder so it s probably different. Got stuck on the toilet tho.

Nicola &OH

In ours the fuses are opposite side to the water heater

Phil and Paula

Hi, have you tried posting your question on the Conway Owners CLub web site

http://www.conwayowners.org.uk/forum/default.asp

We have been members for a while now and they are great helpful bunch - just like everyone on this site.

We also have a 99 Crusader but have not experienced these problems as we dont have electric flush - it does sound as others have suggested though that it may be a fuse

Are you going to Herefordshire in April ? as we are there from 8th April to 18th but with the Conway Club and did not realise you guys have a rally booked there also - hope to meet up with a few of you - my wife is particularly interested in the pink stuff

Regards

Andy

Just a question but were you hooked up to EHU?  Check the fuse box! Have you put the toilet lank in a little too enthusiastically - we did and knocked the fuse housed in there out.  The hot water problem I think may also be the gas/electric thing.  Frnakly we always used electricity - I was wary of the gas also too tight to use our gas instead of their electricity which we had paid for!

The lighting would work from your leisure battery.  What about TV/Electric Kettle etc?

Hi, we always check out 240v outlet with a lamp etc.. just to see if we were actually on 240v and not 12v as with some of the early models of FC it was hard to tell

Thanks to all your replies, we have now sorted the problem out with the toilet and have a few ideas as to why the water wasnt heating.  Hopefully all sorted now for our next trip.

Thanks again all very helpful

Be careful, if you are on a site with no hook-up, to make sure all the heavy users like fridge and hot water are switched OFF. Otherwise they drain your battery and you have no power. This is normally all very well as you can use torches etc, but you can't flush the loo! And because your water pump has no power either, you have to go outside to get a bucket of water. Ah, the joys of electrified camping.

cheers, Terry

Read the thread on the mrsages page my loo won't flush.  I have just repied to it and it may help you.
