hi all i have a query if any one can help' i have a mondeo which has been lowered could i tow a trailer tent with it or would it knacker the suspension thanks and does anyone know where i could get a cheap tow bar for it thanks lee.

I cant see how it would damage the suspension as if you have ot lowered presumably you changed the shocks as well as the springs.

A trailer tent shouldnt put that much weight on the towbar to affect the car too much,it will be all the stuff you load the car with that causes any problems

I tow with my Veccy and thats lowered to by 30ml never had a problem.

We have a mk2 mondeo and have been scouring ebay for a cheap towbar for months!!

There is one on there now for about £80 which is one of the cheapest I've seen - it's brand new but you would either have to fit it yourself (inc. electrics) or pay further to get it fitted.

Having said that, I got a 2nd hand one this week which may/may not be complete!

only problem i can see is you may need a plate to raise the tow ball so as the trailer tows level ..

Be careful with using drop plates, as I recall it is illegal to use one to raise the height of the towball.

I tow my trailer tent with my PT cruiser.. its been lowered 50mm... no probs, but i do have to take the jockey wheel off completely, while driving..

One thing occurs to me. You have this sporty looking Mondeo, which drags the floor as you drive due to being lowered. Presumably clear rear tail lights and exhaust pipe of the space shuttle. I sure lots of people think it looks really good. But the whole effect is ruined when you put a trailer on the back.

yes all the above you said is true'big exhaust/clear lights but my cam belt has busted my engine on my other car so im getting desprate  as i go away in a few weeks.so ill be using my mondeo.
