Why is it that you can buy this http://www.puxtradingpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=1772&osCsid=fcd4f161fdfb23a1ca3c64f8b4003fa9 in the states for $54.95 (£31.36), yet in this country they are http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/product.asp?p=3182 £72.50!!! for the comparable product? surely we are being taken for a ride. What other things have you bought that were just too overpriced?? Is anybody else fed up with this? Anyway had my moan, now i`m off to Towsure to pick up some bits!!:)

You are certainly correct. If you could get it cheeper in the States, you still have to import it to here. Since the market in the States for the BAL leveler is patented, that means you have to pay the price over here. There is something you can do. Go to some where close to you and have them make it! Buy 2 meters of strong wall pipe, the screw and two stainless steal pins, have them bend the pipe to the proper size, weld two plates on the upper part for the deminsion of your tyre, weld the screw on, tap and place the pin, you have a BAL leveler. I have no idea what it would cost since I ordered one with my camper when I bought it, but it should be cheeper than buying here or ordering from the States.... IMHO (PS Color it YELLOW and call it something else for license purposes!!!) LOL

Samfan,
I just hope you don't have a load problem with your small generator. Remember, the difference in generators is the output not in volts but in Amps!. You can get a small generator which puts out 1000 watts (no load) but chokes when it has to put out 600 watts load. (small heater or a small water cooker) Forget using a hair dryer (1000W) or a toaster (1600w) or a small grill (2000W) or a large grill (2500W). Using a small space heater (550W) will probably bring the generator to its knees and cost more that on site electricity.

It sounds like you got a good deal, I just hopes it fulfills your hopes (and needs)!

TOM C-S

  thanks for your reply

we purchased the generator to use mostly at steam rallies .when we dont have

  hook up.

its main use is allow my wife to watch the saturday afternoon sport on a colour  tv

i do realise that small generators have limitations with regards to output
