This will probably seem like a very stupid question to those of you familiar with TT's but it's a whole new area for us - so please bear with me!! We are thinking about ultimately upgrading to a TT from our tent and we were looking at the max weight that our car (a Honda Jazz) could tow. There were 2 sets of figures for trailers with/without brakes - so what I really want to know is do TT's have brakes becauses we could get away with a heavier weight if they do.

Some trailer tents have brakes some don't.  You will find that the smaller the unit basically the less likely it is to have brakes.  I have a Cabanon Mistral TT which doesn't have brakes.  The best thing to do is go look at some and 'pick' the salesman's brains.

Whether or not any trailer has brakes depends largely upon the weight of the trailer:- if it weighs more than 750kg, it is a legal requirement that it be braked.

I think all folding campers exceed the 750kg limit and are braked - I don't know any that are not. I have no direct experience of the Countyman, and so cannot help much there, however Conway units are generally of good quality and hold their value well.
