Been away for Easter in my fc when we were packing up i lifted the matteress and there were 2 damp patches underneath, obviously caused by condensation of our bodies.

Any one know how to overcome this problem, do Iput a thin foam roll map under or what

Is the mattress foam or spring interior?

You need to get air to circulate under it to dry it out. You could make a wood grill to lay it on.

Or stop moist warm air passing through the matttress from your body whilst sleeping. IKEA sell mattress protectors that are designed for a similar purpose.

They have the added advantage of increasing the thermal insulation and preventing disaster with the occasional cup of tea. They can be laundered in the washing machine, unlike a mattress.

Eddie

Had the same problem over Easter....venting in the morning cleared it but it is a concern. Edward ...these matress protectors that IKEA sell, are they to go on top of the matress or below..? As you stated the problem appears on moisture from the bodies on top of the matress.....do you think drilling holes in the wooden boards would make a difference..?

Went to France last year and because of the difference in climate, the moisture didn't appear....

Any help on this appreciated.

Thanks

Simon
