been looking for our first trailer tent,we like the trigano chantilly any advice welcome.we are not sure about the extra extention, that fits near door area,as there is only me an him going to use it dont think we need that much space, will be having the sunconpy bit,get a bit confused with the names to me they all look just like awnings you add to trailer.also as they have slatted beds there is nothing underneath this just the open ground, can you feel the cold ! im a real wuss,we have a tent and feel the cold from the ground thats why we are looking for somthing else.are they hard to put up,do you get instructins, and daftest question ,,if you have all the extra bits do they all fit in the trailer or are they seperate.i like the pastel colours in this trailer tent rather than the brighter ones,do they fade a lot? thanks Lynne

Theyr'e great Lynne, we used one for ages, 2 x Adult 1 x Toddler/Demon, plenty of room without the extension to the living area. About 90 minutes to put up after a bit of practice.

Really enjoyed it, never cold, except the first time we used it, and didn't know what we were doing. All our camping bits, chairs/ watercarriers /  BBQ etc fitted in the trailer. It has faded a bit, but its 8 years old, and has had a fair bit of use.

Cheers

Paul

Hi Lynne

Welcome to the site, Ive got a Chantilly, we have the extention awning and its great, we've put the big awning in the loft and just use the small awning as its a lot easier and quicker to put up and have just got a sun canopy as well, used that for the 1st time last week, its really good, we hung our coats up under it to drip dry so didnt have to take them inside and also parked the car under it to pack the boot as it was raining when we where packing up.  Just make sure if you get an extention awning that theres a zip on it to attach the sun awning, our didn't have the zip (dont know why) so had to do a bit of jiggery porkery to get it to fit.

We store most of our stuff in the trailer including all the poles and canvas, as well as our chairs, the table, sleeping bags,  then we put the gas bottle inside the fire bucket which sits inside the bucket with lid which goes in the washing up bowl, the Cobb and lots of other stuff as well, but have taken the seat cushions off as we found it easier to get in the lockers without them and also more room to store stuff in the trailer.

Are you getting your Chantilly from Camperlands, if you are they will give you a demonstration of how to put it up including the frame for the awning and go through everything with you.

We havn't got the slats on ours its a 2004 model but have never been cold, but we do go prepared with hot water bottles and good sleeping bags and also quilts but have been away in Febuary no porblem.  We have EHU so run a fan heater in the evenings and morning to take the chill off but dont keep it on at nigbt.

Dont know about the fading, havent had ours long enough to fade, but they are a great tt, sometimes theres just me and OH and sometimes our son comes with us and we love our Chantilly.

Hope this helps and if you have any more questions dont worry about asking.

My Chantilly does have the slats, and I've not had any issues with the cold, despite doing some verry cold weather trips. I think the foam mattresses are very good insulators.

If I was going to add anything to the beds, with the cold in mind, I'd stick foil blankets to the slats, and maybe add a matress topper too.

If the cold from beneath does worry you, just fill the underbed tents with strangers!

hi there, we started with a dome tent, and upgraded to a trigano chantilly, oh what fun my husband had cutting his fingers everytime we put the wretched thing up, it was a complete nightmare, wish we had never bothered, the only advice i can offer is DONT BUY IT stick to a tent or even go for a folding camper if you like the idea of being under canvass, it takes more like 2 1/2 hours to put up correctly, i felt cold all the time, very drafty, they should invent a degree to take in putting up trigano trailer tents, as it was very confusing first time, dont even get me started on the weather flaps, our trailer was not an old clapped out thing, it was a trigano chantilly GT  2003 model, we dont mean to put a downer on it, we love camping and have upgraded to a caravan, but still use our dome tent regularly, this is our honest opinion on the trigano trailer tent best of luck whatever you decide em and ste
