I don't have a Coleman but a Viking. It depends on the floor plan and real size. My unit has the dinette on the side where many have the dinette on one end. All fold down as beds, some larger 2,mt long and 1mt wide(those on the end) as those like mine on the side (1.80mt long 90cm wide). Also the size in itself is very important. If it has a large box (up to 4 meters) it could have 2 large beds on each end (2x2mt) and the convertable dinette bed for space to sleep up to 9 people. If it's that big, it will be very heavy to tow so watch out for the weight. Some can be as heavy as 2,5 Kilo Tonns, dry weight (curb weight). That takes a BIG tow vehicle.

For me, an American Hardtop was exactly what I wanted, but I selected the unit I could live with with the tow capacity I had and the people I had to sleep on board.

Tell me which Coleman unit you could possibly get and I can get you some more information on it's size and layout. You could go to several sites in the states and see for yourself many different setups, but pay attention to their size!! I would have loved to have a larger Viking, but the next larger one than what I had had more than 500 kg more than I could tow!

Here are three you can look at, have fun.

Hi Milks

I have a Coleman Sedona that I brought back from the States with me.  It is really lovely.  I would thoroughly recommend them.  Had a lot of work doing the conversions on mine but if you are getting it in the UK then I would say go for it.

Hi milks,

What year is the Coleman you are interested in?  The mid to late 90's model had an issue with the ABS roof.  They tended to sag which caused the roof from sealing properly around the edges.  It is  very costly to replace the roof probably more than the tent trailer is worth.

There shouldn't be a problem with the roof on the 80's model.  If you can though, go and inspect it.  If the roof has even a hint of sag pass it by.  That pretty much goes for any American tent trailer.  Like I said before it is very expensive to replace.  I have a friend whom owns older tent trailer that had roof sag.  He rebuilt the roof but it was a heck of a job to fix.  He has the know how to where I would make a HUGE mess of it.....lol.
