Some kitchen units, including mine, are designed to house a small gas bottle inside them. That suggests that the tent makers consider it to be ok for the bottle to be inside the tent.
Until now I've run with a 4.5 kg calor bottle placed behind the kitchen unit, but inside the tent, with no problems. Obviously this gets disconected for travelling.
I'm intending to get a second bottle, small enough to fit, and stay, inside the kitchen unit for use on one-nighters and en-route stops, because I'm finding the connecting / disconecting of the calor bottle for single uses a bit of a fag. And I'm currently unable to use the kitchen unit en-route. I guess this second bottle might have to be Camping Gaz (ouch££) unless anyone can suggest otherwise.
