We've bought a millenium f c and after a 450 mile round trip got her back to Shropshire .You probably passed us on the M1/M6[everyone else did] .After loads of trying it out on the drive ,we're going for our first weekend next Friday .The pitch is hard standing, and the weather forecast is good ,but should we invest in these here rock pegs for the awning, all i've got is pegs from me beloved 4man ridge tent?
We dont have a FC but a TT and went on hard standing in Feb, Id definatly recommend you get the rock pegs for the awning, theres no way normal pegs would go in the gravel we were on.
You will need rock pegs for some hard standings but not others. Of course might eventually decide not to bother putting the awning up just for a weekend, the fc doesn't need pegs.
we have been on hard standing and have used the pegs that came with our camper awning when it was windy but i think its personal choice i keep saying ill get some but never do.
If you intend travelling extensively with your new pride and joy, then it has to be worth your while getting decent pegs. We discovered the ground in warmer climes (France and not the south!) laughed at the normal pegs, so we just take the substantial metal ones.
I have rock pegs as a standby but as I really don't like pegging out, I have converted to WURMIs for normal pegging. You screw them in with your rechargeable drill - it takes all the effort out of it.
You will need rock pegs for some hardstandings but not for others. I like the sound of those WORMI's, Ive looked at them in magazines but not actualy tried them.
