Hi I am considering purchasing a Cabanon Atlantis or a Jupiter. I realise there are quite a few differences between the 2 (Size for one because the Jupiter is massive). Has anyone any experiences with either of these models (good or bad).
No I haven't but I LURVE our Stratos - it is so easy to put up - no fiddly curtains and linings - first time we put it up in 35 minutes. Took us ages to decide on which one, but I am glad with the choice we made . Good luck. Jackie
We have the Stratos also. I was very impressed with the towing performence of the trailer. The Unit goes up easily [cant get it down to 35 mins yet, which is impressive] but its straightforward. Good luck with your eventual choice.
We had the Cabanon Galaxy which was the 'original' version of the Atlantis. The main difference is that the main awning is in two halves on the Atlantis.
The Galaxy was an excellent tt and we thoroughly enjoyed using it and the space it provided. Took about 1 1/2 hours to set up completely (including pegging) but well worth it. Can only imagine that with the awning being in two halves it is somewhat easier to erect. We loved the porch area that the Galaxy (& Atlantis) provided.
Have no idea what the Jupiter is like so cannot compare.
We purchased the jupiter at the end of the season last year, and can honestly say that it is wonderful. We went camping at easter in it and it was so handy to be able to move the front door in the 3 different positions as it was warm during the day but cold at night, when it was cold we moved the front right to the back on the attached awning and we was warm as toast. As for size there are 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids and the space is amazing. We had a 6 birth frame tent before and thought that was big but after having the jupiter we feel like we are in wembley stadium.
All in all it is a very good trailer tent, but I might be a bit biased.
I also have the jupiter it as a connected 1.8 mtr awning which makes life easy when erected and perfect for weekends away but i always put up the woule tent as i need the space i have a family of six and we have plenty of room in it i also agree with everything thing that rim says also you will know with any cabanon tt you are buying the best on the market
Many thanks for the information, interesting that noone has the Atlantis but I guess this doesnt mean its a bad tt. We have a bit of a think ahead of us I think. Thank once again
We have the Atlantis. We have just had our first trip away this season in it.(Friday to today). I like the size and shape, and the fact that you can just put up part of it if you want, very handy for short trips.
We have had the predecessor to the Atlantic, the Cabanon Galaxy, since 2003,which has been brilliant. It is a very stable tent, beds are comportable and it is quite easy to erect. We are, however, considering selling this year - have a 16 year old who doesn't want to go anymore!
If anyone is looking for a second hand trailer tent, it is is first class condition!
Read your reviews and you have convinced me. Like the look of the cabanon just needed the reviews to help make our minds up. We are interested in buying a cabanon Galaxy/alantis/jupiter and would be interested if anyone is selling,.must be from smoke free.pet free. Please email me if you have one.
You're probably right with the direction you're going in, but have you looked across the other makes? I didn't, I just went with what was available nearby. I'm perfectly happy with what I bought, but I'm kicking myself because I don't feel I did the homework properly. I'd say, if you've not done so already, find somewhere that stocks one of the other makes, and just go and have a look, even if its a few hours drive. I wish I had.
What did you purchase and are you saying this because you are unhappy with your purchase. We do think what you said makes sense and we are going to travel to a dealer who stocks all the different makes and then decide, thanks for the good advice.
I bought a Trigano Chantilly GL (see pic in my profile). I'm really really happy with it, but there's just that niggle that I didn't really look at much else before buying, and so there's always the possibility that there's something else out there that might have been even better. I doubt that is the case, but it's just not knowing.
I did look at a few makes, but Cabannon, for example wasn't one of them.
I think ultimately If I'm happy, as I am, with what I've got, then maybe it doesn't matter if there's other stuff out there.
I'mnew to all this so I hope you get it. We have a Cabanon Atlantis for sale, I have just placed an advert for it on this site. If you are interested please give me a call.
