Do you best to keep your tempers, be prepared for the odd clonk on the head from a pole, or holding down the fabric in the breeze, and have a stiff drink or cuppa handy for when you're done!  Good luck - the extra space is well worth it.

Hi Veds,

we had a similar problem but braved it out and tried it on our first camping trip. I'd seen some posts on this website suggesting attaching the awning before putting up the roof but we tried this and it didn't work out too well, the weight of the awning pulled the roof off centre and we couldn't get it back down again without a lot of hassle. Like Foutones says, be prepared for some wayward poles. If there's two of you to handle the poles then it's a lot easier. We're off again in a couple of weeks so we're going to try putting the poles up first this time. Let you know how we go on.

Hi,we've had the main unit up a few times so we are familiar with this but no doubt anyone camping near to us at the weekend will be in for a little floor show when we try to put up the awning, cant be that hard ????

Well after ages of putting ours up we went to a Pennine meet and I managed to zip the fabric in to the zip! With an audience of 50 seasoned pennine owners watching it took us 20 minutes and borrowed steps to even zip it on!

different people do it different ways, we find the easiest way is to assemble the front poles then to hook the roof poles into the unit and then attach them to the front poles. Lastly we zip on the awning (stand on the step or stand in the unit to zip the highest bit or lower the middle pole to reach, some say this is hard to put back up with the awning on, but we never had a problem with the Pullman), go round and tension the poles, zip in panels and peg down.

If you want an instruction diagram give drop me an email and I'll send a copy back to you.
