Just picked up our FC, now we going to clean it up and do some work on it to make it look even better, what paint can be used on the front gas bottle locker, what paint to use on the broads under the chassis, what paint for the tarp as its worn to the fabric on top and has 2 small holes in the side.
and why have our neighbours gone all green and the FC is the newest attraction,(must sell tickets) sad lot they is.
hi wildie i have just painted the front box on my caravan with a nice gloss paint for outdoor use which matches the caravan, there are many colours but you can also use plasticote spray paint on them. cant help with paint for the chassis or for the tarp. But im sure someone will come along soon with the answers for you. hope you enjoy your new FC.
Wildie,
I'm not sure about you using Hammerite for the floor.(That is if the wood is only covered with a clear laquere) Wood needs to be well cleaned (sandpaper all over and especially on the flakes), then rubbed down with a 000 steelwool and Turpentine, then again with Turpentine on a cheese cloth. Let it dry 24 hours and then a couple coats of good Boat Laquere and the floor will hold for quite awhile. Between the coats of Laquere, you can rub the finish again with 000 and Turpentine to make it really glow and makes the Lack hard and wear resistant.
Totally more time, but the results hold longer and IMHO, looks a whole lot better.
