Had to happen didn't it. The plastic window got so soft in the sun yesterday it got caught up on the corner of the kitchen and there is a tear there now. Only about an inch and half but it will let the rain in (should I ever be caught in the raid with the camper up being the fair weather camper that I am!). Is there a good effective repair to be bought?

That is bad news.  Never had that problem but I have seen the repair kits for paddling pools/bouncy castle.  Sticky square of clear vinyl.  Should do the job a treat I reckon.

I went to my local camp shop a month back and they were selling a tube of glue which is transparent and it is for sticking leather, rubber, canvas, and plastic windows. If applied properly it will even fill a hole. I have used it on a mud wall on my tt it had riped just where the elastic is for pegging down the awning. Great resault I would recomend it, its called "STORM SEAL". You might have to shop around for it its not heard of at a lot of places. I hope this helps. Good luck.

You can buy vinyl seal. Chose a nice window sticker like an england flag the right size! and seal it on.

Thanks Mark for your advice too. Will give that a try.

Thanks Jan.   Where do I get vinyl seal from?   I am not having an England sticker on my window thanks very much. I am fed up to the back teeth of them. Non footballing person here.

We bought ours from a DIY store its called vinyl weld and comes in a little tube like super glue. Use it for swimming pools I think. You know the sort of stickers I mean not just England ones but world wide fund for nature RSPB etc.

Hi Neelie ........ there's always a Ukcampsite sticker ..... one inside one outside - stuck on top of each other ........

Or ........ any other depending on the size of the tear ...... we have a very small nich in a window of the awning . I have used a kids smillie face it's about the size of a 5p  ........ might look a bit naff, but not unsightly

Eileen

Whereabouts in the south east are you? Cos there's Camping International at Gillingham, or W M Camping near Herne Bay for starters and I am sure some else will know other shops that might sell the storm seal.   I used a roll of clear tape which I got from one of the DIY shops (clear duck tape stuff) which was perfect for what I wanted I only had a small nick in one of the windows.
