I was hoping fr a bit of advice. I am interested in buying a brand new caravan and trading in my folding camper to help purchase. Would anyone know what sort of price I will get for it. Here are the details.
Conway cruiser 1990, very good condition. New cabin canvas this year and new awning last year. I know different traders will offer me different trade in prices I just wanted a ball park figure to see if my purchase is financially viable. I could tow it to the dealer but its quite a drive and would like some idea before I turn up there.
The new caravan I am interested in is the Hobby 450u at £11000. Thanks
I dont have any idea what I would get private either.
I suppose the camper is soooo good that to upgrade I would need to buy a brand new caravan to get any benefits. I bought the camper originally 2 years ago as it suited our small driveway. We have recently moved and have enough room to park 5 cars which is great so a caravan is now not a problem. Besides I like new shiny things. Here is a link to the caravan so anyone interested can have a look.
I agree with Mike, try to sell it private first, when I traded my Pennine Pullman in for a brand new caravan at Barrons they gave me £3000 for it and I knew that if I had bothered to sell it private I would have got at least £5000
When I went back to barrons a few weeks later it was up for sale at £5750
If you do decide to trade it in against a caravan, only include the items that it came with when new. In most cases - the base unit and the awning. If you've bought other bits and bobs - like bedroom extensions, the trader will not allow anything for them. There are other people out there who would value the extras - don't you agree Jan P and Sarah?

Most definately Pennine Plodder, extras are certainly worth fighting for
(Still haven't sorted that extension yet - the wheels of progress turn slowly in this house lol)
I would agree with chappo. Look in your local paper at the clasified pages to see if there is anything like what you have got and work on there price. Then me personly I would put it on e bay with a reserve price. There are hundreds of tt's, fc's and tents to compair prices with. I've sold my tt and then bought a newer tt from e bay without any problems and more than happy with my dealings.
