We have just bought a 2004 Pennine Sterling camper, and wish to use it at the end of this month, there is a battery already in it, and as we have left it late to book anywhere the only pitches I can get haven't got any hook up. Just wondered how long the battery will last with the fridge and a microwave running?
My next question is we have 10 month old twins, and I cannot figure out sleeping arrangements for them in the camper, has anyone got any ideas.
We pick the camper up sunday, so shall errect it in our driveway and try and get to huge travel cots into it some how.
Well heres looking forward to our first camping holiday in years and our first one with the twins (slightly scared) and I pity anyone who is pitched next to us, as our babies are going through a phaze of waking at 5am screaming for their bottle
The battery will not run your fridge for any length of time, best use it on gas. The microwave will probably not run at all as they are very current (power) hungry. You will need a large invertor to use it and the battery will not stand that kind of drain for long. Leave the microwave at home as you will need the space by the sounds of it.
Good luck with the twins. We took both our kids away camping from a very young age, about 3-4 monthgs from memory. They both love it. We used to use the cot bit that went on the pram but yours may be to big now. Make sure the battey is fully charged before you go.
We would boil some water up and then put it into a thermos for the night feeds. That way it was ready fairly quickly.
