We are off on our jollies weekend after next and it will be the first in this particular TT, been in tintent for past 12 or so years, maybe longer.

We have had 2 TT's prior to the van but cannot remember what it was like to sleep on the fold out beds as there is only about 2 inches of foam on top of the plywood bases.

Do you find this comfortable or do some of you put anything else on top of them for added comfort, we thought of taken a double blow up lilo bed to put on top but is this really necessary, please share your bedroom secrets LOL but not all of them eh!!

Hi Happydad, I assume you have the new model of the Chantilly, the slats have only been out a short while, Ours is a solid plywood about 1/2 inch think

My Raclet T T probably has similar beds to a Trigano. Sleep like a baby  find it very comfortable. Hi Valk-scot we are off to Edinburgh Monday

I'm sorry I don't echo everyone else's thoughts about the 2" foam bed. My Trigano Oceane is six years old and I think the foam is now probably 1.1/2" and I find it a little hard. I know that you can buy new foam made to measure but I've just not got round to it, so what I do now is use a Coleman double air bed on top. Mind you this is only used if I am away for more than a week I can do without the air bed for just a week, but after that my back starts to stiffen in the morning.

But my conclusion I supose is to get a new foam mattress cut and fit it, and then perhaps at the end of the day I could say the same as everyone else.

Don't appologise, thats what forums are all about, listening to different peoples experience then making a descision one way or the other, your advice is most welcoming and really appreciate everyones post.

Is the airbed as wide as the foam beds, or would you have a tendancy to roll off.......

the air bed that I use happens to be just as long as the bed but smaller than the bed width wise. So you can imagine that once the air bed is in place you have the seat part  and the air bed can be used as a back rest like a sofa. Quite handy somtimes.

Sounds like me an my hubby are a bit soft lol. We use a mattress topper on the foam and a sleeping bag.  The sleeping bag started off as being extra insulation when we camped in April as it was rather cold, now I like the extra padding.  We have just bought a memory foam topper but not tried it in the TT yet.
