Our camper is kept at the parents right under their dining room window. I did suggest removing the wheels and putting on axle stands and keeping the wheels and jockey wheel in our own garage at a different address, but the insurance company said no as we could not put a wheel lock on then!!
But it would have no wheels on it to tow it away on - they said no got to have a wheel lock.
first FC insurance insisted on hitchlock and wheelclamp every time unattended. Many years ago in the dark ages when I went camping, never had to think about security just zipped up tent and went off!
we have our fc stored in our garage with wheel clamp and hitch lock, both of these were reqired by the insurance company. the hitch lock we have is one that secures the camper to the car, so if you stop at the services no one can take ya camper/trailer cos of this lock{i no these days that anything is possible}, at the end of the day its peace of mind.
we have ours on our drive way (under our front room window so we can see all the time)with winter cover on with hitchlock, wheel clamp and its also blocked in at nights with my van and car.
We always use a wheel lock, hitch lock and also 2 corner steady locks also .No matter what security devices you have ,it won`t be enough ,but if you were ever unfortunate enough to have your camper stolen at least you know you had done as much as possible.Don`t ever leave your camper security to chance.
