Sitting here with the Mrs looking at campsite after campsite trying to pick one for our upcoming week away in early september. We have a trailertent that doesnt require hookup, two young kids (4 & 2) that require something to play on (Mrs Happydad now taken over as Mr Happydad cannot spell!)

He requires a seaview if poss (though not essential) and I would like somewhere within walking distance of a village or town.

We are looking at the Pembrokeshire coastline as we have heard the beaches along there are fab.

We have read review after review on campsites on this website and everywhere sounds lovely and we are now stuck. Thought someone may have an idea of where we could visit.

I hope I dont get the same reply as the lady who asked about her buckets - if someone has asked this sort of question before I sincerly apologise!

Many thanks

Mr and Mrs Happydad and kids xx

hi all, you could try skegness sands, closest site weve ever seen to a lovely beach. short walk to numerous shops restaurants etc, next door to butlins where you can get day passes, swimming pool on site, club site so very reasonable and spotlessly clean. only problem is it is not pembrokeshire.

hello mr and mrs happydad and kids

going to tenby next weekend husband and 2 kids cant wait the kids are really excited and so are we. new trailer tent to try out so were like kids at christmas. i also searched through hundreds of sites in and around pembroke and in the end just thought right thats the one. we are going to pantglas farm never been before so cant help you there but i dont think you can go far wrong if you read the reviews and follow your instincts, if something looks and sounds nice and others have recommended it then it cant be so bad. good luck and hope you find something nice.

i will definately leave a review when i return so keep a look out

Hi there

A site to try is Trefalun, we stayed here for a weekend at the end of July on our first camping trip.  We have 2 kids 7 & 5.  There is a great park on site for the kids with CCTV. The site has no shop or bar but a van does visit in the morning.  The toilet block was clean but you need 20p for a shower. No sea views and you will need to use the car I'm afraid!

The reason we liked Trefalun was the site is very quiet, clean and well maintained.  You are only 10 minutes by car from Tenby and have Manor Park and Dinosaur Park 2 mins away.  While Folly Farm is only 10 minutes away.  It is worth a look at their website if you want a no frills but clean site!

Happy holidays!

Neil

hi again cant wait till we go roll on saturday morning anyway we got our groundsheet from camperlands in northenden they are a trigano agents so if you go in and tell them you have a chantilly they will probably be able to tell you how much you need and then they cut in to size of a big roll. i think for our groundsheet it was about 80.00 but the awning on the cheverney is the biggest one so yours should be cheaper also try glossop caravans they are quite reasonable.

have a super holiday and hope you get sorted

Can I suggest you get on the Ferry at Pembroke and head to Ireland.  The West of Ireland offers everything you require.  Kerry and West Cork are beautiful locations.  More expense, but should be an amazing break.

Good luck.

If you fancy somewhere a little further east try the caravan club site at Pembrey, Nr Llanelli.  It has a club and is directly next door to a country park that has five miles of golden sand with safe swimming, a forestry with ample space for kids to release their energy.  It is within striking distance of Tenby (1 hour) Swansea (1hour). Kidwelly about 2 miles away has a Co-op and village shops and pubs, a Norman castle and Tinworkewrs museum. A busier alternative is the Haven site at Kidwelly - usual holiday camp site with all facilities
