I'd stick with what you've got and persue some means of drying it in wintertime; access to a large garage or barn or something, or maybe even some sort of indoor storage. All a bit of tall order, yes, but not impossible.
You don't want to go tin top do you? I'm not ready for that yet.
We'd be comfortable in our TT in anything a UK winter could throw at it. After last years main cold camping trip, we might just prop up our heating facilities this year. Might try electric blankets for example.
I, like you I suspect, cannot bare the thought of putting the tent away soon and not using it again until spring. No way!
