Morning each

Anyone suggest a good wood sealer for the top of my Nimrod, preferably waterproof as it acts as the floor as well

Cheers

Kev

Hi you dont say if you want to waterproof it or preserve it but anyway ronseal does a good range of products of which i have used a few a good yauht vanish is waterproof and is suitable for outside or a wood preserver/dryand wet rot will protect anyway but does not make it waterproof but i think it preserving is what you want anyway but look at the ronseal range and they give info sheets to help you pick! hope this helps Paul

Paul

Cheers for the tips, was looking at waterproofing mainly as the original leather(?) covering on the ply has got thin and torn so I have stripped it off, came away like wallpaper! and want to coat it with something substantial to keep the weather out.

Cheers

Kev

Give it a couple of coats of Thompsons Waterseal then a couple of coats of waterproof varnish (Rub it down with a very fine grade sandpaper between the varnish coats and wipe with clean cloth.)

Hi Kev,

How's the Nimrod coming along, we've had ours for 2 years and it's roof/lid is needing some attention. How did you work on the lid? we've been putting it off, we have a leak on the right rear corner and we're not sure how to get started. Any ideas?

Going camping this weekend and going to have look at it then.

Keep your eye on EBay sometimes they have nimrod's cheap for spares.
