Hi, We are newbies to this and just bought a Conway Carlton TT. I need to get it juiced up and have got a decent extension lead and a breaker box from a motor home. I would like to fit the box with a short fly lead but not sure what pins are L & N on the lead!! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Adam & Tracy

  JUICED UP?

FLY LEAD?

NOT SURE WHICH IS LIVE & NEUTRAL?

It is painfully obvious you don,t know  what you are doing. For safety's sake leave the job to an expert before you kill somebody

Thanks for the help. NOT

Posted on other forums and had a great response, thought everyone was here to help each other, obviously not.

I am helping you

I'm stopping you killing yourself.

You do not even know the correct terminology or the difference between L & N

I can't help you hun, but i'm not going to be rude and treat your question with contempt either. Electrics are dangerous, but there's nothing to stop you doing it I guess. Try the Conway Owners club, they know everything about anything you need to know!!

If I were you I'd get a proper EHU unit with the correct RCD and circuit breakers. They are around £50 - £100.

Cheers Jeff and Burty, I have got a proper power supply unit with MCB's and an ELCB from a motor home just needed to know about connecting to my hook up lead. As I stated earlier we are nwebies and have never been camping before, we've only had the TT for 3 days and only had a quick look at it! Will check out the Conway site for info.

Thanks to u 2 again.

Rennison

It appears I owe you an apology.I was logged on to this web site last night(at work but dont tell the boss). When I left the room a certain person took it upon itself to borrow my computer and abuse you and other people who go camping, which this cretin considers a waste of time.Apparantly he has done it before, which I have only just found out.

I can only say I am sorry and hope you are not to upset with me.Rest assured he will not be coming near my keyboard again. Also wish you luck with your problem

Paul & June.

Thanks for the appology, no offense taken. I thought it was weird that someone would be so abusive when everyone else on here seems so helpful.

Remember to lock your workstation next time!! lol

Burty, would be nice to meet up for a glass we also like wine and port, will be at the bonfire bash at Silverdale to try the TT out with the kids and dogs!!

The Brown (Live) is the same as a normal plug - as you plug it in, the live is on the right. (where the fuse is)  - As you look at the back of the plug.

Just think - Live is never left.

I also have a Conway Carlton and installed mains electric, didnt bother with all the stuff you did though as i am not a qualified electrician and am only 18 years old. I just attatched a socket to the underneath for the EHU lead and ran the wiring for this to a 13 Amp fused spur (i think thats what there called) and then from that into my sockets, i only installed 2 double sockets which i find to be enough and they work brilliantly never had a problem with them or blown myself up yet lol.

Gonna get mine wired up at the weekend, been to a camping place in Sheffield and bought an adapter so we can run it off a standard extension lead from the house and got some small 240V strip lights which should do the job. Shame there not gonna be any power at Silverdale to try it out!! There's always next year and the front garden for us to try it.lol
