Hi

As some of you may know, Pennine announced in April of last year that they were re-launching the Conway Cardinal Clubman (a hard roof folding camper that stopped being produced after Pennine bought Conway a few years ago). The launch was thought to be 18 months away at the time of the announcement.

I contacted Pennine on Saturday for an update as there did not appear to be a Clubman in the 2007 range. Their reply was as follows:

"Further to your email dated 4th November 2006, regarding the launch of the hard-top Cardinal Clubman model,
we regret to inform you that the launch date has been somewhat delayed.

We originally visited America to approve a roof 'lifting system' for this model, but unfortunately due to a product
recall, we have had to re-evaluate the situation.

We are pretty hopeful that the launch will now be in approximately 12-18 months time."

So, at least another year to wait.

Not that I can afford a new one, I'm just hoping that with the launch of the new one the second hand ones may be a bit cheaper.

Hope this helps someone.

They never said it would be a conway did they? If so I see me resigning from the pennine owners club in the future because I want one!!!!

Bunnyboiler

I believe the last year of manufacture of these was 2002.

I have seen a few on sale, mainly older ones but there have been a couple of newer ones (1999 to 2002) and they were around the £6 to £8k mark if I remember correctly. As they were quite expensive when new, there probably isn't too many of them around.

Keep an eye on ebay, local classifieds type papers and also the conway owners club has a for sale section click here

They have two on just now that have been sold, a 1995 with a price of £3k and a 2002 with a price of over £6k.

Good luck with your hunt.
