We have a rapido confortmatic folding caravan is this the type of van you meant or were you looking more at the type where they just sort of collapse to 1/2 size?

Our rapido according to oh is great to tow he doesn't even feel it there,we have just used it this past weekend at s.w.bonfire meet and will use it again new years eve weekend. We have a 1kw oil filled mini radiator which just takes the chill off at night.Hope this helps.

you would probably be able to tow a rapido confortmatic with your 1400cc astra.

as regards the gobur i am not sure if you click on the link below i am sure that their staff will be able to help you with any query on towing etc.

It's not engine size that should be peoples primary concern. What determines towing capability is the  weight ratio.

Its a case of will your car be pulled down a hill by a caravan - your car needs to be heavier!

I would firstly check your car handbook to determine the towing limits.

The Caravan Club have an excellent section in their handbook and I expect on their website about this matter.
