That sounds like a great idea, we were advised that you couldn't have a bike rack for a folding camper and we were trying to figure out how we'd take a roof box and the bikes! It sounds as if Pennine have it sussed!

We'd also be in the market for one of these if anyone has any ideas? I'm off to do some research!

Thanks, Just had a look. it looks as if it might be the answer to our problems.

You'd imagine that it must carry more than one bike? Else it's not really worth the effort is it? I've emailed Pennine about it and sent for a parts catalogue. The horizontal bars look like it might just about carry two bikes.

when we bought our Sterling last year we thought about having the bike rack fitted, and was told that it really did need to be done at time of purchase.  as to have one retro fitted would mean sending/taking the camper back to the factory.

as yet we have not used it as we have not got round to purchasing a lighting board.  oh well not to worry will have to see what this summer brings

I looked into this rack last year. It is for the Folding Campers with a rear pull out bed slides with the relavent 'pipes' bolted on. i.e. the Conway Cruiser & Crusader and Pennine alternatives. They are rated for carrying 2 bikes.

Last year the cost was about £150 which included the required electrics for the light board etc.

I went touring around scotland in our pathfinder last year with two adult mountain bikes on the rear of the trailer using the pennine bike rack.You have to make sure that the camper is packed correctly and check the nose weight of the trailer because two bikes on the rear make a big difference.I ordered the bike rack at the same time as the camper so It was all fitted for me, How ever you can buy the kit and do it your self as they are supplied with instructions and fittings. For what they are they charge a lot of money and I think now I would have looked at alternative bike racks such as those you can fix to the rear of the car or roof mounted bike racks.

With my Dandy I actually find that my car bike rack can fit on the back of my car safely as it stands well clear of the tow bar.
