It would be really good if someone developed porch awnings for folding campers with matching zips for various models.  We always found putting up the main awning not worth it for anything less than a week.  Now we have a caravan I doubt if we will get a full awning.  The suncanopy looks great.  TVS could do something similar wwith a couple of side panels and sell it as an off the shelf accessory - although zip matching would be the main problem.

Doesn't a free standing motorhome awning fill this gap? They usually have a flap at the top that could be used to join the awning to the camper.

But how would you join it? Campers don't have an awning rail (hard top Cardinal/Laser/Tardis excluded) or a gutter to attach it to, awnings zip on, so you would still need to match the zip and sew one on.

We did it at Llandow Caz by tying the flap to the poles under the camper valance. It wasn't very successful.

On a Dandy the roof sits on top of the walls so it's easy. Motor homes don't tend to have awning rails so they are designed for that.

Our main issue was the camper peaks in the middle whereas motor caravans and therefore stand alone awnings are flat. So it was too high at the sides and too low in the middle. However it was something we already owned so worht a go.

There's a lady on here that makes awnings fit. I've heard she's very very good. A lot of people on here have one.
I can't think of her name at the moment.

We bought one of LISA'S awnings.

It zips onto the camper and stands with just one "U" shaped pole.

It gives us loads of room and stays permanently zipped on, just being thrown over the roof and folded up along with the camper.

We bought a Countryman last year and used it with, and without the awning last year whilst getting used to setting it all up. We asked Lisa if she could make us a porch awning, but because of our zips, she couldnt.

Last weekend we went away and decided to put the awning up even though it was for only three nights. I'm glad we did - to be honest the Countryman awning is not that big, with the panels taken out its light and easy to zip on, and if the poles are layed out on the floor in the correct place it's no problem to put up. OH pegged the four corners whilst I started zipping the panels in so we could make sure ok to put the other pegs in. I was surprised how easy it was. It's mind over matter for us and we can do it easier than we thought.

The firm appear to be now calling it the Spacelite.

Spacelite

After you get it you will still need to sew a zip on or get someone to do it.
The zip will need to match the existing one on the FC.
