Hi All,
Still looking at my options, kinda decided on the Cabanon Neptune but i am still thinking on the Conway crusader.

I really wanted the pennine pathfinder, but that colour no way could i live with it. The big plus was the bed size but ohhh that colour. So to my delight the 2007 crusader has the bigger bed. BUT i notice that it is only 194cm length as opposed to 198 cm for the pathfinder. Big deal i hear you say but i am 6ft 4 (193 cm) so the 198 6ft 6 would be better. But i cannot believe they have not made the beds the same size to cut down in production size. Is it just measured different?

If not is a bed size of 194cm suitable for someone who is height is 193cm ?

Thanks

I'm almost inclined to measure it as the shells are the width and the bed goes to the edge so why would they be different?Ours is 212 wide so how do you lose 18cm? Have to say at 152 cm not my main concern and the 2003 was green and cream thank god!

The Pathfinder 2006 model is still available at some dealers with a good saving compared to this years model.I have to say that the brown and cream colour has grown on me after looking at the model in the flesh.

Three very different models and styles, there!

Have you seen how the Crusader operates, compared to the Pennine? We have had both a Crusader and a Pathfinder,in our time, and personally preferred the Pennine mechanism, but you have to use them to find out which suits you best, I feel. Has a dealer done a demo set up for you?

The Neptune is another kettle of fish altogether, and surely there your choice is whether you fancy a trailer tent or a folding camper? We have had a Biscaya tent (same principle as the Neptune awning) and loved the reduced weight and volume of the poles, but didn't like the almost constant creaking of the frame (probably because of the width - we had the 500; same width as the Neptune - and because each section of alloy frame places friction on the adjacent sections, there is some strain and hence a bit of creaking, which you don't get with traditional frames or trailer tents, and definitely not with campers). We also had some problems with the zip, which joined flysheet to groundsheet (we might have just had a rogue tent, though, since have had Cabanons for years and no other problems encountered).

As for comments re: the Pathfinder colour scheme, I have to agree with you! Come back green colourway, all is forgiven!

The Pennine Pathfinder and Conway Crusader bodies may be the same width but because the Conway Crusader uses the pull out bed system the beds are slightly shorter.

This is because the runners for the pull out bed system are mounted on the side of the bed boards. This makes the beds slightly shorter then what they are on the Pennine Pathfinder.
