Hello all.
Anybody out there know any companies that will manufacture an awning using the old (rotten) one as a template?
Recently purchased an ERKA trailer tent, and the awning has clearly been put away wet!
Zips and so forth are all good, but the canvas is beyond repair.
Help and advice desperately sought!
Neil
Thanks for that Ian & Tasha. I've fired them off an email, so we'll see what happens.
You don't know anything about ERKA's do you? Can't find any information on the web, which is pretty strange these days!
Neil
No I have only had Dandys and Pennines in the folding camper line so I can't help on that. No doubt someone on here has loads of information to give you.
...also try company called Trio Pair - I think run by Cheryll on 01977 708688 I was recommended them as they do repairs & remakes etc and are very competitive....If its going to be a fortune maybe you would prefer a day tent eg Sunncamp of Outwell Oklahoma which are both 3m x 3m and ideal and free standing awnings - just an idea as thats what I did with one combi that didn't have an awning...both can be had for under £100
Hey guys. Loads of really helpful stuff! Really glad I found this forum! I'll follow up, and for interest did get a really prompt response from TVS, saying... "please ring us...!" I guess that says it all!
Thanks again everybody.
OK guys. Managed to get the canvas properly repaired without shipping it half the length of the country! next step, proofing!
Been researching this, and getting mixed messages about the comparative values of Fabsil and Thompson. Anyone got any views on this? Fabsil seems pretty expensive! Still lots to do, but this seems to be the next steps, so views welcome and appreciated.

Fabsil is best product for everything but Thomsons in my opinion is better for older canvas as it has a higher wax content and bulks up old canvas draw back is you can get a slightly greyish sheen from the wax content when wet hardly noticeable
