I am doing lots of munros right now. Would you be interested in joining? Been doing them solo for 3 weeks, would be nice to have some company on the hikes.
I think I'm too inexperienced a hiker to go munro bagging at the moment, although if I get to do the West Highland Way later this year I'm planning on doing Ben Lomond as my first.
If you have any easier trips planned I'd be up for joining you. Where abouts are you based?
I wouldn’t say I am experienced hiker either. I just turn up and give it ago, if i feel it’s tricky I always have the option to turn back. So far I have been able to do all the ones I have tried in 3 weeks. I just take my time when I do them.
Sure I’ll let you know when I am going to do only 1 Munro in 1 day.
I’d be happy to do Ben lomond, I did it years ago.
I'm a similar age to you and I'm planning on going wild camping/car camping in Scotland in October. The other locations you mentioned also interest me with regards to camping and hiking.
I'm not an experienced hiker.
I'd be happy to meet you and maybe we can do some hiking? Where are you based? ( I'm based in East Midlands).
I'm based in Norwich, so possibly not too far away depending on where in the East Mids you are.
Honestly I'd love to go but I think it's going to be really difficult to travel in October due to the various local lockdowns :(
I'm not that experienced a hiker either, I just enjoy it. I've lost a lot of fitness during lockdown too so wouldn't want us to be doing anything too strenuous lol
So for me late October through November is best as I'm involved in a big project at work for the next few weeks. Any area is cool with me, I just want to get outdoors. When/where is best for you?
I'm up for autumn and winter camping :D Will need to get a warmer sleeping bag and maybe a better sleeping mat, but that's no issue.
Scotland appeals to me the most - for a variety of reasons. (Including because of the relatively liberal laws in Scotland relating to wild camping). 🙂
What do you think about Scotland as a potential camping destination?
I'm open to other areas too, it's just that in Scotland it's easier to abide by the law when camping, (for starters). there's maybe more choice with regards to wild camping or camping on designated campsites in Scotland.
What are your views on this?
Do you have the facilities to do video chats - such as with Skype, Zoom, Instagram, Snapchat? we could arrange a video chat if you like?
Scotland would be great, although the weather will be pretty harsh in winter lol. I was actually meant to be in Scotland for 2.5 weeks in April (hiking, but not camping) until covid ruined those plans so would still love to go.
Spending a considerable amount of time in the wilds of Scotland definitely appeals to me at any time of year.
I've found Instagram video chat to be very good. I've used Zoom video chat too, although I've found Zoom video chat to be a little slower and a bit more fiddly to set up than Instagram video chat.
Have you used either of these for video chats?
My Instagram name is:

Are you up for a video chat tomorrow or at another date that's convenient for you?
