Try selling them Katy, you might get some money back. Advertise them in your local paper, or on the message boards on here in the sale section you never know!

Will it not fit the Monty 12 Katy? Take it with you when you try out the tent and see if it is any good. We use our XXL carpet in the Monty 6.

Looking at the sizes they are completely different - the montana is a long and thin space and it just won't work i don't think. I've advertised it on here and if it hasn't sold soon I'll put it on ebay.

If the `meet` is more up this way we may have a chance of wangling a couple of days off to go, but York is too far for us for a couple of nights. I wasn`t really suggesting that site for the meet, just letting people know what a fab site I had found for next year.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but reading through this thread, I thought we were only trying to arrange a gathering of friends not a formal meet, and it was on this basis that I offered to organise things.

On seeing the York site, and having seen the prices of Lake District sites, for us it was perfect in terms of facilities and price (especially as we're looking to go away for 7 or 8 nights) - thanks Jacqui for the heads up. Location was a wee bit further than we were hoping for, but as it's such a nice area, and everything else was right, we decided that that is where we would like to go in October, and asked if anyone would like to join us.

So far Papa & Nana have expressed a definite interest, possibly also Als & Nettie although I understand it may be a bit far for Nettie just now. I understand the dates aren't suitable for you Katy or Jacqui, unfortunately although Eve is also off the following week, I'm at college that week in Glasgow.

I'm going to be phoning Home Farm today to book our pitch and check availability for info. If anyone else knows a good, more central location for everyone, please feel free to organise something. It's possible we may be able to meet up for the day, and the guys may still get to Towsure!

By `meet` I meant informal gathering, not a proper meet as such, sorry if that came over unclear, I did think it was going to be in the Lake District as originally mooted, which would have been better for us, but of course people are free to go wherever they want. I am pleased you liked the site Pauline and don`t forget to let me know if it is as good as it sounds!
