Personally and within the confines of UKCS Meets, I would place any "Borders Meet" within an area which is inside an hours drive from the Scottish/English Border and therefore within an area between Newton St Boswells and Durham, or Carronbridge and Appleby.
Anything less and you will not get the numbers to support a Meet.
90% of the Meets that we support are over 100 miles away and whilst some folks are lucky enough to live in high membership areas, most of us do not, hence our need to not only belong to clubs but our need to travel long distances to support them.
There are many places of interest along the Borders but any place chosen for a Meet must be able to entertain the membership for more than a couple of days so that those choosing to travel any distance, will be able to use the Meet as a central point for a decent break.
