We would rather wait for the owners club to have a rally, hopefully in September, using the responses from the questionnaire. There have been owners working away for some time in the background to get a club going and just arranging something on this forum may not include all Geist owners and is unfair to undermine the efforts that have been made.

But don't let this stop you arranging to meet up with other owners, here if you want to.

Hi SS

fear not - we're getting there and thank you for trying to rally the troups! We have had a few false starts with the owners club and we're just trying to make sure it's sustainable and that we're asking as many owners as possible what they'd like (including rallies). Only a handful post on here, some more use the FB page and even more are not in touch at all! This is why I'm sending out the questionnaire and a letter by post. We're really close and please don't get disillusioned - we are going to need enthusiastic organisers aplenty, as I will need to take a step back once the set up is complete due to my close connections with Geist and the need for the club to be a separate entity.

The questionnaire asks people if they might join, if they would like to be involved in running the club and what they might want from a club so we will have feedback very soon!

HI J

Was windy when we arrived but sunny, awning fits great which is a surprise to us as we didn't want to have to change it so thats some money saved

Site is lovely, it hasn't got a toilet block just ehu but for £8 a night you can't complain. Its got recycling facilities though which has impressed us for such a basic site,

It rained in the night but the sun is starting to come through so hopefully going to take the dogs for a run on the beach

Caravan is lovely, had a great nights sleep and Hayden loves his bunk bed he sits in there quite happily playing and looking at his books (something he never did in the travel cot)

Hows your awning altering going?

Good to hear you are enjoying your holiday and still finding time to post!

Looking in to getting the parts for the awning next week - some really good advice from this site, so we may try just getting a leg clamp and some pipe insulation and see how we get on.

We have an XK550 and this came with an LMC brochure who are the parent company who make these caravans. When we first got the caravan we were unsure how to work the underfloor heating and CamperUK were very helpful with diagrams etc. Was there anything in particular you wanted to know? The pack also contained all info re cooker, heating etc.

Hi Teresa
Thanks for your reply. We are pretty novice caravanners, moving from a humble lunar chateau 400 to the mighty geist lv550, and are a bit overwhelmed by the heating system etc. whilst we have manuals for the fridge, cooker etc, we don't have an actual manual for the caravan. The lunar came with all the manuals for fridge etc but also a manual for the actual van, which was handy as it covered everything from the loo, winterising to tyre pressures. The geist has LOADS more stuff than the lunar, and some kind of overall manual would be excellent.

Hi Andy,To be honest, I'm not sure what is in the brochure but when we are next at the storage place I will pick it up and bring it back with us. If the snow doesn't settle we will go up this weekend, otherwise it will be the weekend after that. If I can scan the brochure (and I seem to recall it was thickish!) I could email it to you if you like. You certainly won't regret buying a Geist, this is our second and they are really well built. We have used ours in the winter and been lovely and warm. Has your Geist got the underfloor heating? We found with the blown air heating that its just a question of trying it out on different settings till we got it right. Will be in touch soon. Teresa
